The first day of the War of Independence a/k/a Revolutionary War

The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first military engagements of the American Revolutionary War.[1] They were fought on April 19, 1775.

For some months, people in the colonies had been gathering arms and powder and had been training to fight the British, if necessary, at a moment's notice.

The first shots were fired just as the sun was rising at Lexington. The militia were outnumbered and fell back. Other British colonists, hours later at the North Bridge in Concord, fought and defeated three companies of the king's troops. The outnumbered soldiers of the British Army fell back from the Minutemen after a pitched battle in open territory.

More Minutemen arrived soon thereafter and inflicted heavy damage on the British regulars as they marched back towards Boston.

Following this the following states would still need to vote:

Pennsylvania - 4/22
Indiana - 5/6
North Carolina - 5/6
Nebraska - 5/13
West Virginia - 5/13
Kentucky - 5/20
Oregon - 5/20
Idaha - 5/27
Montana - 6/3
New Mexico - 6/3
South Dakota - 6/3

Convention in St. Paul - 10/1 - 10/4

Can you construct a poll that has a first, second and third preference. Assigning points say, 4,2 and 1 point for first, 2nd and 3rd preference respectively. This would be much more likely to come up with a consensus date.

Also remember that Washington starts to get very hot and humid after the middle of June.

I vote for April 19th. Start of the Revolution.

Far enough in advance to plan and promote.

Early in the year enough to influence states that have not had their primary.

Ron Paul said in the video that he'd like to see this happen 3-4 months from now. That would equal May or June. He didn't stress anything about a certain date, but he did stress that he wants a lot of people there. In order for a lot of people to be there, the date needs to be something the majority of people can work with. I can't see April being accomodating for the majority what with people's children still in school and the like. I'd prefer to fulfill Paul's request of 3-4 months from now.

You left out one of the most popular dates. April 19th! That's the day the American Revolution started! Please add it!

What happened with the sunday before memorial day or memorial day itself????
this day is already set up and scheduled. It is a holiday, so people can get off, there will be a pow/mia freedom rally in dc that day and they would likely join our march, What are you thinking?
