SPEND 100 BUCKS ON DESTRYOED DEMIN YOU BUGGING.. THE CLOTHES ARE COOL AND DIFFERENT BUT SHE ACT LIKE SHE CAN CHARGE ALL THAT MONEY FOR A PAIR OF JEANS CAUSE SHE LOOK GOOD AND THINK PEOPLE WOULD BUY THEM. I AINT A HATER SHE COOL BUT WHY CHARGE SO MUCH FOR JEAN'S THAT ARE PROBALLY MADE IN CHINA. EVEN THOUGH SHE SAID SHE MADE THEM HERSELF AS A HOBBIE WHEN THE COMPANY WAS JUST A THOUGHT. BUT NOW SHE HAS TO HAVE OTHER PEOPLE MAKING THEM. AND IT'S CHEAPER TO MAKE CLOTHES OVER SEAS CAUSE WOKERS WORK FOR LESS AND YOU DONT SPEND ALOT. I KNOW PEOPLE IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY SOME ARE FAMILY SO I KNOW HOW SHIT GOES DOWN, I CAN DESYROY MYSELF JUST LIKE THAT FOR FREE.. |

I'm glad you're expressing your opinion and all falloutgirl, but next time try using a little bit of common English grammar before insulting a product and a person that are far beyond you in almost every aspect of living. You make yourself look like a fool, and I feel kind of bad for you. Any who, I've purchased from DD several times and I am overly pleased. Designer Denim usually tends to be over 100 dollars USD, but not DD.
As for a "DIY," yes. You can do it yourself, but it defeats the purpose of "designer jeans." Most people who buy high priced jeans only buy because of the name and background behind it, not the actual item itself. Abercrombie & Fitch will sell a pair of destroyed jeans for about 70 to 80 dollars, when you can buy a pair that's almost exactly the same at AE for 50 dollars or less. Then why do people buy from Abercrombie over AE? It's the title and common sense. If you're looking into REAL fashion, you can design your own clothes yes, but complaining about the price of designer Jeans is beyond stupidity. |

i agree with reborn. bluerosegypsy, you're as stupid as falloutgirl, i can see how two people with bad grammar can agree with eachother. don't put anything up if you can't take the criticism. personally i don't like the jeans either but reborn has a good point. |

Before any of you point fingers and argue about a product..maybe you should do your research first. If you had, you would be aware of that for the time being, Christine Dolce and her team of close buddies do NOT make the jeans themselves, only the "Destroyed" part/the art work on them....so FYI "Fall Out Girl", there is no "oversees" labor going on with Destroyed Denim at this time, It's the TECHNIQUE they are selling. They will eventually, as the company progresses and takes off, start producing their own denim as well.
With that being said, think about it... if DD takes an order, goes and purchases a pair of jeans, treats them, ships them out, and so on...what REALLY is the profit on these? Wouldnt you expect at least the same profit if you were doing all this work? I would. I think the price is justified. I do own a pair of these Kick Ass jeans and let me tell you, they rock my socks! However, I don't expect everyone else to like them--they are works of art, which are subject to criticism from others tastes and preferences. Thats fine--clearly they are not meant for everyday common people or wear. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say and if I feel like they are worth my money--then shit, they are.
PS--Reborn, you had me going with you for a second there until you used in comparison the analogy of people who buy for a "name" such as Abercrombie to Christine Dolce's denim. Sorry, Love Forbidden, but her "name" is not why I purchased nor is it to have a "designer" pair of jeans... its the attitude, the style, the art, and the feeling you get from her products that make the price irrelivant when you are buying for value. ..I know what you were getting at though and glad you are a DD fan as well. |

Personally, as someone who destroys denim, I feel as if they kind of create a new type of conformity. As long as people cater to a line of clothing that is basically the same, regardless of what it is, it just causes us to be labeled as a certain type of person. For instance, who do we usually associate abercrombie, hollister and american eagle with? Hot topic? Gap? AX? I think that their prices are reasonable considering there are people selling them for much more. Would I buy them...no. I feel that its a way to make a living, but it's not original. I wish her luck. I wish I had her publicity, but I dont. |
